The DLS Reference RCS6.25 is a slim 2-way component system designed specifically for installation in spaces with limited room. With an installation depth of just 41 mm, the 165 mm woofer fits even in modern vehicles where there is hardly any space available behind the door panels. Despite its compact design, the system is part of DLS’s Reference Series and thus meets the highest audio standards.
The woofer features a die-cast aluminum basket in a Euro design with an internal motor assembly, as well as a hybrid magnet system that combines ferrite and neodymium magnets. A copper short-circuit ring reduces distortion and improves midrange reproduction. The lightweight glass-fiber cone works in conjunction with a Santoprene surround to deliver fast, precise, and uncolored bass.
The 25 mm silk dome tweeter is vented through both the magnet and the back plate. A small acoustic chamber with aperiodic damping reduces pressure buildup and suppresses resonances in the tweeter’s lower frequency range. The result is a detailed and open high-frequency response that blends harmoniously into the overall sound.
The woofer and tweeter are each driven by their own 12 dB/octave crossovers, which are equipped with high-quality components such as MKT capacitors, air coils, and MOX resistors. The separate crossovers allow for flexible installation: The woofer can be mounted in the door and the tweeter in the dashboard or A-pillar, utilizing the vehicle’s existing wiring. If both drivers are installed in the door or in custom installations, the crossovers can be easily wired in parallel.
