The DLS HLC4.2 is a high-quality, four-channel high-low converter designed specifically for use with factory-installed car stereos that lack RCA outputs. It converts the speaker signals from the original radio into noise-free preamp signals, enabling the connection of 2- or 4-channel power amplifiers. With a maximum output voltage of 3 V RMS, it delivers a powerful, low-noise signal to the downstream amplifier section.
All of the HLC4.2’s input channels are fully balanced and feature effective noise rejection. This reliably eliminates interference and ground loops, which frequently occur with factory-installed radios. The extremely low total harmonic distortion (THD) of just 0.002% at a 3 V output voltage ensures distortion-free signal transmission of the highest quality.
The converter features a 12 V remote output with up to 100 mA, which can be activated via two detection modes: by DC voltage or by audio signal—both operate exclusively on channel 1. Status LEDs indicate the operating status: Green indicates that the remote output is active; blue indicates that audio detection is active. In addition, the HLC4.2 offers a summing function for channels 3 and 4 for connecting a subwoofer amplifier in combination with the optionally available EBC bass control. Integrated load resistors ensure compatibility with the digital output stages of modern factory-installed radios.
