The DLS Reference RC3C is a high-quality 3-inch midrange driver designed specifically for demanding car audio installations. As part of the Reference Series, it is aimed at true music lovers who value warm, natural, and detailed sound reproduction. With a rated power handling of 50 W RMS and a peak power handling of 100 W, the midrange speaker is ideal for use in high-quality multi-way systems.
The coated wood-fiber diaphragm ensures exceptionally natural voice reproduction and gives the RC3C its characteristic warm sound. A rubber dust cap minimizes diaphragm resonance and break-up distortion, contributing to a clean, low-distortion sound. Components made of Nomex® and NBR further reduce distortion and ensure high signal fidelity across the entire frequency range from 100 to 12,000 Hz.
Inside, a non-magnetic voice coil made of Kapton® with copper wire works in conjunction with an optimized neodymium magnet to ensure efficient drive. A copper shorting ring improves distortion performance and reduces the voice coil’s inductance. A well-designed ventilation solution ensures improved heat dissipation and thus higher long-term durability.
The low-resonance aluminum basket provides a stable, vibration-free base for the speaker. With an installation depth of just 35 mm and an installation diameter of 75 mm, the RC3C can be flexibly integrated into a variety of vehicles. The package includes hexagonal protective grilles that cover the midrange driver in an aesthetically pleasing way while also protecting it.
