DLS Reference RC6.28

The DLS Reference RC6.28 is a high-quality 2-way component system with a 165 mm woofer and a 28 mm tweeter, designed for demanding installations in vehicle doors and kick panels. It follows in the tradition of the DLS Reference series and combines natural warmth with precise detail reproduction and controlled dynamics. With a power handling capacity of 125 W RMS, it is suitable for use with both high-power head units and external amplifiers.

The 165 mm deep-midrange driver is based on the Full Basket System, in which the die-cast aluminum basket completely encloses and integrates the magnet assembly. This design creates a particularly rigid and low-resonance platform that provides improved control over the moving parts. A hybrid driver combining ferrite and neodymium, along with a copper short-circuit ring, ensures high efficiency, linear excursion, and low distortion. The coated wood-fiber cone and the lightweight Santoprene surround give the bass and midrange a fast, natural character.

The RC28C tweeter features a 28 mm double-treated silk dome with internal damping, which enables an open and detailed sound reproduction without harshness or fatigue. Its neodymium driver, a copper short-circuit ring, and a CNC-machined aluminum rear chamber ensure controlled performance all the way down into the lower treble range. This allows voices and instruments to retain their natural character.

The separate crossovers are equipped with carefully selected capacitors, resistors, and air-core inductors, and combine the woofers and tweeters into a balanced, coherent system. The 70-mm mounting depth and a 142-mm-diameter mounting hole allow for installation in most standard vehicle doors.
