Phoenix Gold Amplifier

At the MT Audio Shop, you'll find the Z, ZXM, ZT, ZR, ZQ, and ZP series, as well as the ZDA and ZQA DSP models. The amplifiers are available in mono as well as with 2, 3, 4, 5/6, and 8 channels, ranging from the Z1502i for €149 to the ZQ9004 for €1,299.

The key factor is the interplay between RMS power, impedance, and the number of channels. The amplifier's RMS power should match the power handling capacity of your speakers to prevent clipping. A mono amplifier is suitable for subwoofers, while a 4-channel power amplifier is best for a front-channel system.

That depends on the power handling capacity of your subwoofer. For everyday use, models like the Z6001i or ZXM500.1i are sufficient. If you need more performance, go for the ZR, ZQ, or ZP models. The most powerful monoblock in the lineup is the ZP8000.1. It’s important that the power amplifier is rated for your subwoofer’s impedance.

The positive lead connects directly to the vehicle battery via a fuse, and the negative lead connects to a clean ground point. The remote signal and the audio signal come from the radio or a preamp. Connect the outputs to the subwoofer, tweeter, or midrange speaker.

Yes, especially the DSP models. With the ZDA power amplifiers and the ZQA6.8, you can fine-tune the crossover, time alignment, and level for each channel individually. This allows you to get the best possible sound quality from your system, from the subwoofer all the way up to the high frequencies.

Phoenix Gold combines many years of experience in car audio with a wide range of products across all price ranges. From affordable entry-level models to high-output ZP monoblocks and DSP multi-channel power amplifiers, the brand covers every application.

“2-ohm stable” means that the amplifier operates safely and without overloading even at an impedance of 2 ohms instead of 4 ohms. This allows for higher power output, such as when subwoofers are connected in parallel. Many mono power amplifiers are even rated for 1 ohm. Always check the exact specifications in the datasheet.
