The DLS Cruise CRPP-VO2.18 is a vehicle-specific tweeter upgrade for newer Volvo models that do not come equipped with a factory-installed Harman/Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins sound system. It was specifically designed for seamless integration into the existing mounting locations and delivers a significant improvement in sound quality compared to the stock audio system. The Cruise series is known for its characteristic, natural DLS sound, which is specifically tuned for in-car use.
The built-in 25 mm tweeter features a lightweight silk dome with a transparent coating, which ensures detailed and warm sound reproduction. An internal damping pad and a vented back plate minimize unwanted resonances. In addition, a copper shorting cap improves distortion figures and inductance parameters, while a high-quality neodymium magnet ensures high sensitivity.
The included passive crossover operates at 12 dB/octave with a crossover frequency of 4.8 kHz and is equipped with high-quality Mundorf Mcap® capacitors and a copper-wound air-core inductor. A switchable 4 dB L-pad attenuator with high-quality MOX resistors allows the level to be adjusted to the specific vehicle’s acoustics.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the vehicle-specific fit. The package includes an installation lever, all necessary accessories, and detailed installation instructions, so the upgrade can be performed even without in-depth technical knowledge.
