The DLS HLC4.2 Smart Load Harness is a specialized accessory for the DLS HLC4.2 High-Low Converter. It was designed to ensure seamless integration of the HLC4.2 in modern vehicles equipped with advanced diagnostic systems. Without this adapter cable, error messages may appear in the vehicle after installing the HLC4.2, as the system will not detect any connected speakers.
The Smart Load Harness simulates a 3-ohm load, thereby tricking the vehicle's diagnostic system into believing that the original speakers are still installed. This reliably prevents error messages from appearing on the onboard computer or in the infotainment system. The vehicle’s electronics continue to operate as usual, with no restrictions on volume control or other audio-related functions.
Installation is straightforward when used in conjunction with the DLS HLC4.2. The Smart Load Harness is especially indispensable in newer vehicle models, whose on-board diagnostic systems actively monitor the condition of the speakers. It ensures that a car audio system can be retrofitted without triggering unwanted system warnings.
